StarSki Chalets and ROXY have teamed up to create the ultimate in girls only snowcamps hosted by British Champion Lesley McKenna. Together we've created a programme to allow for both skiers and snowboarders to enjoy a perfectly tailored snow holiday. Our aim is simple - improvement and relaxation in style and comfort.
The ROXY Snow Camps have been designed specifically
for girls who'd like to improve their skiing or snowboarding in an environment
that provides everything they need for a thoroughly enjoyable
week in the snowy mountains. Not only will you receive expert
tuition with Olympic competitor Lesley McKenna in a girls only group, but you'll get pampered and entertained throughout
a week of ultimate luxury. This totally new concept in skiing
and snowboarding will help all our ROXY Girls to step up a level and match
anyone for speed, technique and endurance. Whilst we know
that the main aim remains to improve your skiing and snowboarding we've also
designed a programme for the week so you can enjoy your time off the slopes.

Lesley is from the Highlands in Scotland and grew up skiing there in some of the toughest conditions around. This did not put her off, but added to her strength and adaptability, which she has carried over into pretty much everything she does.
She started snowboarding in 1996 and became a pro in 1998, when she started riding for Roxy. She has won over 20 British Championship titles in all disciplines although she specialized in the halfpipe. She is the only rider from the UK to have competed at two Winter Olympic Games and has been consistently placing in the top ten half pipe results in World Cup and TTR events for many years now. Lesley also rides some slopestyle contests but it is as a back country rider that her riding is progressing the most these days. She is enjoying the challenge of taking her freestyle skills into the back country and challenging herself with the largest challenges nature can throw at her in the big mountains.
As well as competing Lesley co-produced, co-directed and rode in the all girls snowboard film Dropstitch, which was the first ever all girl international feature length snowboard film. In 2004, she did it again with the follow up “Transfer” which was a great success. In 2005 she finished the trilogy with the film “Last Winter”. Now Lesley is more into free riding and backcountry freestyle. Always busy and always planning a new challenge, Lesley is a great motivator for the other girls and is keen to help them push their riding level. In fall 2007 she held the first ever Roxy Team Camp gathering the young Roxy talents from across Europe for 1 week of riding, motivation and coaching in what to be expected as a Roxy Pro rider. She’s also been following some of the young team riders helping them at the biggest events.
Lesley likes to keep herself ultra fit. She even won the British Superstars ladies title in 2004 when she had to compete against athletes from 8 other Olympic sports in 8 different sports (again proving the depth of her adaptability). She loves mountain biking, running, swimming and most sports and has recently got into surfing in a big way.
To chill herself out she likes to do a bit of yoga and if she finds time she dabbles in tai chi and alternative medicine. Whenever anyone gets sick on tour she always has a homeopathic remedy or natural cure ready. She also loves to go dancing and can often be seen strutting her stuff on the dance floor.

The Skiing & Snowboarding
On-piste, off-piste, in the park - you decide. If you're looking for powder
in abundance, and some of the best tree and off-piste skiing
around, then you've come to the right place. With varying
terrain to suit all abilities; from leisurely tree lined slopes
to technical black runs, to expansive off-piste, there will
be plenty to indulge your snow-fuelled ambitions in the Portes
du Soleil ski area. You will be spoilt for choice in in the parks with 2 half-pipes, the Stash and numerous parks suitable for all levels. Our main aim for the week is to create
the perfect environment that boosts confidence and allows
you to improve as a skier or snowboarder.
Our week long camp includes 6 days of tuition with
Lesley McKenna, where she'll
cover all aspects of ski and snowboard improvement - technical concepts,
technique adaption through different terrain, park riding (including pipe, kickers and rails) and for the more
adventerous, off-piste. As well as the days we've set
aside an evening for technical discussion and video playback
(with a Gin&Tonic in hand!). Camps are small and so there's plenty of time to concentrate on
improving your technique and style. During the week you'll also be riding with some of the other girls from the ROXY pro-team, such as Aimee Fuller - they'll be there for practice in preparation for the Brits.
Toward the end of your ROXY Snow Camp holiday we'll be having a fun afternoon with a photographer. All photos will be put onto CD for you to take home - you'll get that perfect shot coming off a kicker or spraying powder.
Due to the nature of group skiing/snowboarding it is important
that skiers are at an intermediate level, e.g. happy on reds,
min of 3/4 weeks experience, reasonable parallels/linking turns.
All of our lead coaches on the mountain are English speaking and fully qualified and insured to teach in France. Remember: We're insured so you are!
The Pampering & The Entertainment
Each morning you'll have the opportunity to join a Yoga and stretching session
where you'll be able to clear you mind and relax your body
for the day ahead. This is a great way to stretch your muscles
and increase your level of concentration.
We are able to book a range of relaxing massage treatments for you. This is a great aid to relaxation - remember that
it's a holiday so you have to accept that pampering is all
part of the week. If required we are also able to organise
other beauty treatments such as aromatherapy, manicures, pedicures,
facials, waxing and even St Tropez tanning.! The chalet also
has a sauna and outdoor hottub where you can enjoy a cocktail whilst
taking in the amazing alpine views each evening!

The Accommodation & Food
A holiday wouldn't be a holiday without luxurious accommodation.
All your rooms are ensuite and include such luxuries as crisp white linen, spa fluffy towels, dressing gowns, slippers and Molton Brown
products. The chalets are brand new and have been designed
with style and comfort in mind. An outdoor hottub, sauna, real log
fire, Sky TV, free WiFi and private bar serving the best cocktails in
town adds the finishing touches to the perfect luxury boutique chalet. For photos and information on the chalets please select them in the menu on the left of the page.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day ! We served a hot option each day which ranges from smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, to pancakes with fruit and maple syrup to eggs benedict. Along with this there is a delightful array of options including; yoghurts, energy smoothies, fresh fruit, fresh French pastries and breads, cereals and fruit juices.
Afternoon tea is served to you when you return to the chalet at the end of each day. Freshly baked cakes, hot chocolate, tea/coffee and fruit juices are available.
Your dining experience will be one of sumptuous delight each
evening. A superb four course meal along with carefully selected
French wines will be served at
the beautiful candlelit dining table. After supper you can
move to the open plan comfort area and relax in front of the
warming fire with fresh coffee and chocolates.
