Booking Terms & Conditions for StarSki Chalets (UK) Ltd

Please read these conditions carefully and retain for future reference as they form the basis of your contract between us Star Ski Chalets and all those listed on the booking form on whose behalf the party leader is acting. A contract will only exist when we have received from you a completed and signed booking form, your deposit and proof of appropriate insurance and we have sent to you confirmation of your booking and invoice.

1. Deposits and Payments
Catered Holidays
A deposit of 25% (of accommodation cost) per person are required at the time of booking. The final balance of payment is due 10 weeks prior to departure. If final payment has not been received by this date, the booking will be treated as a cancellation and the deposit and the insurance premium shall not be refunded. Should the booking be made within 10 weeks of the date of departure, the full amount is payable immediately. No contract shall exist between StarSki Chalets (UK) Ltd and yourself until the booking form has been received and deposit paid.

Forms of Payment
Acceptable payment types are Bank Transfer and Credit/Debit Card.

StarSki Chalets will not be responsible for charges imposed on you, by your bank or credit card issuer. This also includes payment discrepancies caused by variations in exchange rates used by your bank / credit card issuer.

In the event of dishonoured payment the group leader will be contacted to make immediate payment by other means. Failure to do this will mean automatic cancellation of the booking.

In the event of late payment of your final balance, charges or loss of revenue incurred on our behalf will be added to your balance.

2. Amendments & Cancellation 

2.1 Due to circumstances beyond StarSki Chalets control it may be necessary to make alterations to a confirmed booking or to cancel the booking completely. Whilst Starski Chalets will make every effort to ensure this does not happen, if it is unavoidable Starski Chalets will contact the Group Leader as soon as possible. In this instance Starski Chalets will endeavor to make alternative arrangements for accommodation (up to the same value) if available, offer an alternative holiday with Starski Chalets up to the same value or offer a full refund of any monies paid in relation to the booking of a a Property. No other compensation will be offered.

2.2 We cannot accept responsibility or pay compensation where the performance of our contractual obligations is prevented by or affected by events amounting to Force Majeure – meaning acts of war or threat of war, political unrest, terrorist activities, adverse weather conditions, volcanic ash clouds, strikes, acts of God, epidemics, riots, civil strife, industrial disputes, terrorist activity, natural or technical disasters, nuclear war and or similar events out of our control (“Force Majeure”).

2.3 You, or any member of your party, may cancel your holiday at any time providing that the Group Leader makes the cancellation in writing/email.
Starski Chalets takes no responsibility for non-delivery or non-receipt of such written cancellation.

2.4 Your Deposit will be retained for administration costs and cancellation charges will be levied as follows:

2.5 Cancellation Charges

By you – If you change any of your flight details after having booked your holiday, an administrative charge may be incurred which will then be passed on to you. If you are obliged to cancel your booking you must inform StarSki Chalets (UK) Ltd in writing immediately to . In all cases your premium and deposit will be forfeited and you will become liable for charges on the following scale:

• Over 10 weeks before departure date – deposit only

• Under 10 weeks before departure – 100% of holiday cost

2.6 Non-receipt of the balance of the cost of the holiday will not be taken as notification of cancellation. Groups will still be liable for cancellation charges as shown above if they subsequently cancel the holiday.

3. Behaviour
Whilst on StarSki Chalets (UK) Ltd property all clients are expected to behave in an orderly and acceptable manner. Should their behaviour threaten the condition of the accommodation or seriously impair the enjoyment of other guests, StarSki Chalets (UK) Ltd reserves the right to refuse to further accommodate the guilty party and contractual obligations will be terminated. The guilty party will be liable for the cost of any damage so caused.

In the case of non-exclusive use bookings. StarSki Chalets cannot be held responsible for conflicts arising between separate guests or groups of guests as a result of them not liking each other.

Any persons not booked into a StarSki Chalets Catered Property can only visit guests with prior notification and permission of StarSki Chalets staff, with StarSki Chalets staff being present at all times.

4. Responsibility
In the event of death or personal injury to yourself or any of your party travelling with us under your booking we do not accept liability if such death or personal injury is not through any fault of ours or our supplier. In particular we do not accept responsibility if the death or personal injury is caused through no fault of ours or our suppliers or is due to circumstances which we could not reasonably foresee or have avoided.
You agree that if you have a claim against us which is the fault of another party that in the event of our dealing with your claim those rights that you have against the other party are transferred to us or our insurers. Various International Conventions govern compensation, which can be paid in other circumstances whilst on holidays or travelling and these Conventions apply to our Contract with you.

5. Disclaimer
All persons undertaking the activities operated by StarSki Chalets (UK) Ltd and our suppliers accept and understand that the activities contain an inherent level of risk of death and personal injury, no claim pertaining to injuries or death sustained whilst participating in one of StarSki Chalets (UK) Ltd or our suppliers activities will be entertained nor liability accepted by StarSki Chalets (UK) Ltd or its suppliers.

6. Vehicle, Personal Possessions and Luggage.
StarSki Chalets (UK) Ltd will not be held responsible for any theft or loss of personal possessions from our premises / vehicles. Whilst we will endeavour to ensure the security of personal possessions of the party, we cannot guarantee it. Please be aware of this fact and leave expensive / personally valuable items at home.

7. Smoking policy
We operate a strictly no smoking policy in all our vehicles and inside our accommodation facilities. If people wish to smoke they must do so outside of these areas. If it is found that you have smoked within our accommodation you will be liable to a cleaning charge of up to £500.00.

8. Support vehicle
(Applicable to Winter Chalet Holidays Only)
StarSki Chalets (UK) Ltd provide a FREE support and backup vehicle, the use of this vehicle is taken entirely at your own risk and StarSki Chalets (UK) Ltd take no responsibility for death or personal injury caused through the use of this transportation.

Not all properties have a Support Vehicle provided. This is noted on the individual pages of each chalet. Please note that the use of the support vehicle is provided free of charge and does not form part of the holiday cost.

9. Check In / Check Out Times
On arrival your room will be available after 3.00pm on departure day you must vacate your room by 10:00am.

10. Insurance
Everyone booking a StarSki Chalets (UK) Ltd holiday must be insured. If, on arrival in the resort, you are found to have insufficient cover you will be obliged to purchase a suitable insurance policy.

11. Resort Prices
Any indicated prices for activities, equipment hire, instruction and ski passes were as accurate as possible at the time of publication. We cannot accept any responsibility for any variation between that time and the date of your holiday.

12. Complaints
Any complaints should be made clear to chalet staff as soon as possible, preferably in resort, or to our office no later than 14 days after returning to the UK.

13. Visa/Passports
It is your responsibility to be in possession of a valid passport and/or any visa necessary. If you do not have a British or EC passport, please be sure to check visa requirements for the countries you will be visiting.

Applicable to Winter Chalet Holidays – Remember, most flights are to Geneva in Switzerland which is not an EC member.

14. Website Information and website information is correct to the best of StarSki Chalets (UK) Ltd knowledge at the time of going live. Information relating to the resort cannot be guaranteed since changes can occur at any time outside the control of StarSki Chalets (UK) Ltd

15. Free on Piste hosting / Orientation
(Applicable to Winter Chalet Holidays Only)

This is no longer available due to French Regulations.

16. Transfers
Transfers are not included in the price of your holiday but can be arranged on request. Transfers may be by our own vehicles or by vehicles of other providers with whom we might make arrangements from time to time. It may sometimes be necessary to combine, on certain transfers, clients arriving or departing on more than one flight, which may require additional waiting time at the airport. Clients travel in our vehicles or other providers’ vehicles at their own risk. 

• IMPORTANT: In-correct information that requires additional transfers be organized at short-notice will be charged at a minimum of £150 for up to 4 people. Additional seats will be charged at £30 per person thereafter.

• On clear days the normal transfer time from Geneva to Morzine is 1hr15mins. Due to extreme mountain conditions during the season this is not always possible. Therefore occasionally we have to allow 4+ hours to transport you safely back which includes adequate time to check-in. The decision will reside with StarSki Chalets.

• We will always allow adequate time to get you safely and on time to the airport. However, there can be unforeseen exceptional circumstances that mean you miss your flight or train. Please note that for any costs incurred you will need to claim against your holiday insurance. We will provide any paperwork required to support your claim.

17. Shared Transfers
When ‘Shared Transfers’ are quoted for please make sure that your flights fit in with the following times. Allow for up to 4 hours for your departure before your flight departure. Full information on our range of transfer services is available on request.

Departures – Morzine to Geneva:
Valid on transfers departing Morzine between the hours of 7.00am and 7.00pm. Outside of these hours additional charges may apply.

Arrivals – Geneva to Morzine
Valid on Flight arrivals scheduled to land between the hours of 08:30am and 8:00pm. Outside of these hours additional charges may apply.

18. General Terms
Outdoor Shoes – It is important that, for your comfort, a pair of slippers or indoor shoes are included in your packing as outdoor shoes are strictly forbidden inside the chalet.
Children – No matter how much care is taken, our chalet is not childproof. StarSki Chalets will not be held responsible for any accidents occurring within the chalet, it is the parent’s responsibility to ensure their children are supervised at all times.
Lost and Stolen Property – Any client not properly securing the exits after leaving the chalet will be liable for any property stolen as a result of that negligence.
StarSki Chalets will not be held responsible for any theft or loss of personal possessions from our premises / vehicles. Whilst StarSki Chalets will endeavour to ensure the security of guests’ personal possessions, StarSki Chalets cannot guarantee it.
It is up to the group leader to ensure that each member of the party is responsible for the safety of all their own personal possessions, documents and equipment. No responsibility or liability is or will be accepted in respect of such items.
Special Requests – If you have a special request, please clearly note this on your booking form, or if later make it in writing, but we cannot guarantee any request that you ask us to provide unless we have confirmed it in writing. If you request us to pass on requests to other service providers (e.g. Ski schools or nanny services) we cannot guarantee such services will be provided even if we confirm that they have been passed on. Please note that all services are provided subject to the conditions of the relevant supplier, some of which may limit or exclude the supplier’s liability to you.
Cots, High Chairs, Car Seats – Please request at time of booking if you require this facility
